Gov. Schweitzer released his 2007 tax return today, and there really isn’t much to see. The $6,000 in charitable giving was nice–particularly in the light of recent stories detailing the the paltry amount given by many past U.S. Presidents and current hopefulls.

The real interest here is in waiting to see if Roy Brown releases his tax returns. During the 2004 gubernatorial race, the RGA repeatedly badgered Gov. Schweitzer to release his returns from his days as a private citizen. Of course, they didn’t really care about the returns, they simply wanted to cast aspersions about the fact that the Governor had *gasp* worked in Arab countries before. In response to the ads, Gov. Schweitzer pledged to release his returns for every year he worked in the public arena. So far he’s made good on that promise… If Roy Brown hopes to do the same, he’ll be releasing everything going back 9 years.
