I’m going fishing for four days on Fort Peck next week. When I was figuring out the costs, I realized that driving there (and gas for the boat) was going to cost more than any other part of the trip. I wonder what small fraction of my trip if any will end up in Roy Brown’s campaign coffers?

While you were at Fort Peck did you look at the proposed site for the $500 million wind power facility? The project that would have brought jobs and revenue to Valley County and its communities. The project that was chased out of the state because it was near, not in but near, the wildlife preserve that is filled with antelope and geese, neither of which would have been affected by wind turbines. The ‘clean energy’ Schweitzer has talked so much of.

I take that as a no? There was no thought given to the idea of clean energy being chased out of the state by a very tiny minority. Even if the company building the wind farm brought in all of their own workers, as would be likely, those workers would still need somewhere to stay, somewhere to eat, and somewhere to get the necessities of life. The workers could stay at the Cottonwood, they could shop at Gordon’s Grocery, and they could grab some of the best pizza in the world at Eugene’s. This would undoubtedly have brought thousands to a part of the state that could use any infusion of money it can get.
